I’m pretty sure talk of the UN being no longer useful comes up whenever 1 or 2 of the permanent members of the UN Security Council start misbehaving. It’s always the same 2 permanent members causing the problem too. Maybe we keep the UN and instead remove 2 permanent members from the security council permanently.

All I have seen from any country who cries about freedom and democracy is the past 2 years where citizens were forced to receive shots they didn't want, deal with government shutting down small businesses and churches, arresting people who gathered in crowds,issued curfews and mandates, forced people to wear masks and show papers to get something to eat.

With the security council being able to stop any meaningful action, the UN right now is as impotent as the 'League of Nations'. However, the point of the UN is not for military exertions but for somewhere to talk. Though it's often fruitless, we do need somewhere to meet. We cannot have 'hot lines' set up with every country in the world.
