When was the last time we heard that it is the parent's responsibility to feed their children? I'm not against programs to help feed children, but our nation is drunk with free this and free that at every turn. We must admit that we are encouraging people to not take responsibility for their own children. We are not in a depression, there are jobs and money out there.

What happen to " Feed the Children"?
Our district claimed to give teacher raises, because teachers were leaving. Then today, we were told that teachers are going to be fired next year, because they don't have the budget to keep them. Teachers are already burned out, because there are staffing shortages. Now we are going to have to have more students in our classrooms, once others are let go. This school system is sooooo broken. I don't know why I stay.

Notice how the Republicans always think the worse of the working poor and never expect more from the rich and corporations. If kids are expected to attend school by law, the school lunch should be included automatically but no, the pro-life party is ok with kids going hungry to save some money.
