Yep, because whenever you defuse a bomb, you cover the identification markings on the exterior with a clothe…. 🙄All bomb defusing experts do this so people can’t see the country of origin and type of explosive.

HOWEVER, I have in countered thousands of bombs that have been dropped by combat aircraft in my 26 yrs in the military.
This bomb weighs 250kgs (550lbs) and was dropped by an aircraft flying at approximately 300 mph and at moderate to high altitude with fins (non-retarded (parachute)). When this type of bomb is dropped and impacts the ground and structures there is substantial damage to the bomb and fins. The fuse will be sheared/crushed guaranteed. The bomb will impact nose down and will bury into the ground, there is a possibility of the bomb porpoising up and out of the ground but the damage to the fuse will be severe. When a UXO (Unexploded Ordnance) is disarmed there is absolutely a minimum of personal around the UXO, not two personnel and a cameraman.
Please be cautious of propaganda from both sides in a conflict (war).

I am 100% on Ukraine’s side of this but as a former ammo troop in the USAF, this bomb looks in really good condition to have been dropped from an aircraft. Just the fact that it fell from 24000 ft at the speed of the aircraft plus gravity and sustained no real damage to the casing. Seems off for some reason. But I could be wrong too.

Please like my comment to be in top. All who knows physics and a bit of military science. This is a Soviet cast iron free-falling iron bomb OFAB. Сast iron is brittle and cracks on physical impact. Cast iron bomb should crack while dropped from a height. It can't fall on their belly while dropped from a height – the center of gravity is always in the nose, so that the fuse works on impact. This bomb , even without an explosion, would leave a bomb crater in view of its weight. All you see is staged footage. You can ask and confirm my facts from your grandfather or just google it.

Around 7 bombs are diffused in Germany every day. Yes the corpus of the bomb is usually competely intact. Exterior rotten after 75 years underground but intact.

If this bomb was dropped from a aircraft it wouldn’t look like this also it would be embedded in the ground and why are they covering the weapons serial numbers and identification High explosives need a detonation to make them explode so why are they putting water on the detonators threads?
