On the eve of the talks between the presidents of China and the US, Beijing accused Washington of fomenting the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
At a news conference on March 18, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian described US behavior in the crisis as "hypocritical" and added that the US was involved in the conflict.
He also blamed the US and called on Washington to resolve the crisis peacefully. "More than two million asylum seekers have been displaced by US policy," Zhao Lijian said.
