Here is the thing: This is $5.8 trillion as opposed to the $6.8 trillion in 2021 under Trump. But The reason for that is both 2020 and 2021 had much needed COVID 19 relief… 2019 had only $4.4 trillion and only $1 trillion in deficit spending. I say ONLY for a TRILLION… but before the CCP flu hit we where on the right track.
Also, Build Back Better would have added another $1.7 trillion to this budget… adding up to $7.5 trillion and adding to at least $3 trillion in deficit spending (thank god it did not pass).
Sure, increasing taxes will decrease the money supply and in-turn help inflation problem… but slashing spending will to and at best the US goverment will only collect 18% in revenue of GDP… $4 trillion.
My final question is this: Why can we not stay in the $3 – $3.8 trillion cost range? Is that really so hard?
