The Academy will never harm their cash cow, they will only REWARD him. This is Hollywood pandering at its very worst.
Will Smith's mother clearly does not know who or what her son is. She only sees the face.
No spine at all! What a horrible thing that Will Smith did. Thank God for the professional caliber of man that Chris Rock is! That could have been a full out ridiculous brawl on stage. Smith had no right to put his hands on Chris Rock! I don't believe that he would not have done that to Dwayne Johnson, Steve Harvey or a host of other comedians because they may have come back with something for him. He may not have smirked off the stage then. He is not above the law! And he needs consequential sanctions from the Academy not a slap on the wrist. People need to see that this a not acceptable! He should have been immediately removed and had the police pick him up regardless of whether or not Chris Rock wanted to press charges. The Academy should have had Chris Rock's back! Shame on the Academy and shame, shame on Will Smith!
I'm not going to go through all 430 comments to see if this has been addressed or not. It is my opinion that Mr. Smith should have handled the situation better than he did. However, I would also like to know why no one is talking about the fact that Mr.Rock has not apologized to either of the Smiths for his "line-crossing" comment. A comedian does not have the right to say whatever he/she wants to. If so, they wouldn't get sued or in this case smacked for some of the crap that comes out of their mouths. It's a profession which is supposed to contain a better level of professionalism that Mr. Rock dispayed at the time.

Yeah…Will is finished. James Avery would've been disappointed for Will on this. But he's a grown man now…and he must suffer the consequences. Breaks my heart that Will and Chris were my beloved stars I cherished as a child.
