Park ranger retires at 100



The National Park Service’s oldest active park ranger, now retiring, is also an unsung civil rights pioneer. ABC News’ Angelica Grullon has her story.

  1. Call me crazy, but I don’t want to retire, I just want to get paid so I can continue loving doing what I do and making a difference. Its called being shown some respect, and getting some dignity and self respect back that was lost. It isn’t as difficult as people make it out to be. I mean what I say.

  23. I'm blown away by Mrs. Soskin's tenacity. Without taking away from any other group, I think there's nothing more beautiful than recognizing the contribution of strong women of color who have witnessed, endured, and continue to shape this imperfect world for the betterment of those inspired by and aspire to follow in their footsteps.

  27. She didn’t work for 100 years 🙄. If I understood correctly, she worked at the park for 15 (?) years and gas previously worked at a factory during WWII. They did not provide any other details about her work history or family life…
