I think the reallity is nato has accepted the loss of ukraine to justify crippling russia threw sanctions and undermined the united nations. Biden has yet again proven how willing he is to sacrifice peoples lifes too achieve his personal agenda the fall of putin at any cost the end of the afghanistan war at all costs. Putin doesn’t “want Ukraine” but as he said repeatedly he wants a very hostile military alliance (NATO) away from its border, just as we’d not tolerate a hostile Iran / North Korean (these guys are actually peaceful but just using as an example) military alliance away from our borders. I have traveled from Australia to Ukraine, Crimea and Russia 20 times the last decade. The western media are getting the story from the side of the Ukraine nationalists, a Fascist coup starting in 2009 with their violence against Russians in Ukraine since 2013. This coup is controlling all press today so it is hard for westerners to know what is happening and we have been badly mislead. The Donbas is comprised of many Russians having been on ostracized for 25 years and having received many violent attacks from the Western military trained and NATO-supplied Ukraine nationalists for 7 years. The interest of UN might not reliably align with the people who actually matter – the ordinary residents of Odessa, Kharkiv, etc. If we simply asked what they want to we will get a different answer than once to put it on the news. Keep in mind that the whole of Ukraine – including the western side – voted to side with Russia in 2008 before the result was deemed unacceptable by Washington and overturned artificially. Much of the violence production occurs in Kiev where nationalists are trained militarily, some are also trained in Britain, and the media within Ukraine for a long time being controlled by Western business partners – so the public of Ukraine themselves can be misled if the country isn’t sovereign and in control of its own information. Executive summary including example of observation asymmetry: Of course, there are lots of pressures around right now. The propaganda in the Western news is truly dreadful ignorance and none-sense right now. Very few people understand how the nationalist violence with NATO supplied military including advanced aircraft had escalated early this year and what an eminent existential threat was for Russia. It was framed as Russia beginning a war but it was clearly NATO beginning the war and Russia having to protect his sovereignty, particularly after serious discussions about rapid access to nuclear weapons started in Ukraine. Having visited Ukraine many times the last 10 years, I saw the fervent increase in Fascist nationalism and heard many sad stories about the terrorism that had been occurring there by nationalists having NATO arms. Having attempted to ask Ukraine to follow peacefully Minsk II for 7 years, what Russia is doing now is effectively implementing Minsk II using force. We can imagine European spectators viewing a hostile China-Russia-Iran military alliance terrorising Mexico, pushing US residents out of Mexico ans murdering many of them, then eventually the hostile military alliance supplying weapons with advanced planes and talking about placing nuclear weapons there, and then Washington still be so patient to wait 7 years with peace agreements. As the violence culminates without any US action, finally US allowing troops to try to end the terrorism in Mexico with the goal to return Mexico to its former sovereignty. All believable so far, but then imagine the entire media hysterically calling US as the aggressors in that situation.

Good morning, thank you for looking into this topic. Our social media are very negatively influenced by America. And what's going viral on our social media platforms worries me a lot. With all their Ukrainian "solidarity motives" alone as an example, I feel a full-scale war against Russia would be morally sanctioned by society. Unfortunately, society is misaligned by influencing manipulated information. Framing is a time-tested American tool for wrong problem definitions, wrong causal attributions, which now in this explosive situation generate a rather unwarranted judgment and thus position society from the wrong perspective. War has been raging in Ukraine not just for five days, but for eight years! Actually, the USA should simply stay out of it with its geopolitical interests and its fears of an economically strong Europe and start illegal wars elsewhere. Russia is not an easy country like all other countries where NATO/USA have allowed their operations.
Russia has already lost. He will never be able to govern the people of Ukraine.

Putin is pissed that the US has spent a lot of time and money making sure Ukraine's democracy will be beneficial to them and the US 1% elites. A lot of policies that benefit US big business, not to mention he believes we influenced the elections and believes Volodymyr Zelenskyy is our puppet (which he may in fact be). In return, he views it as a threat from the West and must defend his country from the threat. I'm not condoning the actions of either side. US should not be meddling and Putin should not be invading, just giving my opinion from the information I've gathered from multiple sources. Feel free to dispute.
