While waves of gifts are being returned after the holidays, many of those items end up being sold out of warehouses instead of back on the store’s shelves. NBC News’ Brian Cheung has a behind-the-scenes look at retail returns.

Awesome
Seems like the whole online shopping created a bigger mess than we expected, pollution. A lot of products are individually shipped to hundred of millions of locations instead to 1 specific large center where people do the last mile shopping. A lot of products are often return individually and resold at a different locations. It's just a lot of fuel usages. At the same time it created a massive demand for low-pay last mile drivers. The whole process appear to be very convenient to shoppers as long as they can easily drop off a return to a local usps/ups locations, and return shipping are covered. As we have heard by now, many stores are now implementing return fee to cover to operation cost. At some point, I bet we may have to move back to the whole shopping center where it's a 1 time go, instead of buying hundreds of dollars of merchandises, tryout at home, and ultimately keeping selective few.
good money but you must have time
Its about to get harder to return orders because companies are losing money.
Do you know what this video is all about? Spend your money on somebody else's garbage.
thats kind of stupid and inefficient. the customer should think b4 buying. they should pay a portion of the price as a punishment unless there's something like a malfunctioning or wrong product
There's a store near me that buys palettes of returned items and sells them for SUPER cheap. Once got Bose headphones(retail $300) for $7 lol
No returns. Lolzzz
Sad
We should purposely return things to get back at companies profiting on us
Retailers are charging for returns now. Hopefully it will reduce this
Such a privilege country we live in.
What a waste of everything. Glad Im not involved in this mentality. Gave up the holidays 10 years ago and never looked back. Jesus will approve.
I rarely return items, but don’t buy much junk to begin with.
Junk
80% – 90% off?!?!? WTH???
After hearing this I believe now think about it if every store had that no return policy two things would happen first the customer we had the opportunity to decide right there if that’s the right item that we want to purchase that would entail the customer knowing what they want. And The second thing that would happen is the retail store will have returns or less returns at least 85 to90% less and the warehouse that you spoke of would be absolutely operating at 20% or less I believe that’s a better ratio the retail stores win the customer wins. Think about it😊
Capitalism is insane. Imagine if we could just let people who need stuff have stuff for free.
I remember years ago buying a Nextbook Flexx 10.1" 2-in-1 Tablet running Windows 10 at Walmart. I ended up exchanging it cause of flashing issue of the screen and guess what that one had the same problem. It was not until getting the 3rd one where I got one that was in working order.
I ended up using the device for a time and ended up selling it on craigslist. Small 2-in-1 devices and small netbooks tends to sell quick in my area if they are priced reasonably.
I like discounted treasure. Me no dragon either.
Just shows ya how overpriced all this Chinese junk really is.
Stop buying junk you dont need or never use… it;s nothing more than just polution
That's why it's cheaper for some companies to dump it on the side of the road
Hey, I got shoes named Stacey Adam. What a coincidence!😊
I work from home. No hard labor for me 🙂
this scam video is trying to get you to buy trash.
Much more efficient than leaving them on The Island of Misfit Toys like in the old days.
everything eventually ends up at the land fill
