About 39 years ago I was close to 13 weeks pregnant and had an abortion. Near the end of the abortion the nurse said 'Oh My God' and stared for about a minute then left the room. Has anyone ever wondered why it is so expensive to adopt a child, but a abortion is very cheap? Maybe the states should help fund parents who want to adopt, as much as they fund Family Planning. Or lawyers should offer their services pro-bono for adopting parents.

What a load of bs Even the travel argument doesn't work. Some states are doing anything they can to make sure they can still prosecute for leaving the state for an abortion. Other states will follow the lead. All of these politicians can say one thing while doing another. They won't get in the way of making abortion as restrictive as possible. They'll do nothing to lessen restrictions on rape and incest, or anything else. If a bill arrives on his desk, he'll sign it, whether it has exceptions or not. He'll gladly go along with a national ban.
You can't show restrictions on abortion lower the abortion rate. The highest decline in the abortion rate comes from states that don't put restrictions on abortion. Some states, such as California, which made abortion access easier, saw a larger reduction in the abortion rate than states which enacted restrictions. On paper it might look good, but it'll be because you have no data. It'll just hide abortions. Out of sight, out of mind. Doing nothing except making some people feel good about themselves while making others miserable.
They key word in all of this is "believe". We believe this, we believe that. This country will be a hell hole if we start writing laws based on beliefs. I hold beliefs I wouldn't inflict on other people. We all do, although some people will happily force those beliefs onto other people. Keep your beliefs to yourself.

1. "My body my choice" – that went out the window with vaccine mandates.
2. "It's a woman issue" – they can't define what a woman is.
3. "Pro-life is racist" – let's talk about all your failed "human rights" interventions (Yemen, Syria, Libya to name a few) that have killed millions of nonwhites.

I’m 45. Had my first kid at 20 and second at 21. The father was incarcerated and when he was released he was barely involved. I had no college degree, and barely made enough money to support my family. But we made it. My life was not ruined. It was altered, I had to grow up fast and I struggled. It was hard, the hardest thing I’ve ever done. But it was the right thing to do. My kids are amazing and are thriving. Being pregnant is not punishment. It’s a gift. I didn’t always feel like it was, but it was. I’ve also had an abortion once and it was and still is my greatest regret. It was literally painful and emotionaly scarring I wondered what that child would’ve of and could’ve been….
The hypocrisy and inconsistency of what states' rights are, and what the central government should administer is just astounding too me. It seems we as a nation learned nothing from the Civil War, states claim preemption and sanctuary status from federal laws, counties within a state do the same when they disagree with the state, small towns that disagree with the county claim self-rule or exemption and if it doesn't stop, it will be every man for himself. A civilized society has boundaries and voluntarily assigns levels of responsibility to the variety of governing bodies.
