Some of the best and cheapest advertising is just Word of Mouth when people love something so much that they will go out of their way to talk about it that's good advertising and Top Gun got the most Word of Mouth positive advertising that most movies just don't get these days if you're talking about movies today it's usually negative people can talk about how bad the economy is but when things get more dismal people want something to watch and Inspire them and they cut out the garbage after years of woke combined with an oversaturation of streaming platforms the quality of content has went down along with agenda driven content going up as things get harder it's just going to give an opportunity to those who can actually produce a quality product and the rest will just be standing out in the cold
With all this Bollywood style Netflix overload of cheap productions, we have a culture where people don't even take interest in finding inconsistencies and continuity mistakes anymore. They all gave up giving attention to detail. American movies can be filmed entirely in Australia etc. Is it a good thing or bad?

Just like most of his ilk, he's obsessed with numerical data from the past five minutes, and he has a clinically irrational fear of attempting anything without perceived ironclad support from those numbers. He views Top Gun as an anomaly because that's what a narrow timeline of purely numerical data suggests. This type of thinking has been proven inadequate for assessing markets, and human behavior in general, hundreds of times in the past. Good luck pulling a high reward out of quantifiably ultra-low risk. It never works.
