Hundreds have died after a powerful 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Morocco late Friday night, according to the country’s Interior Ministry. Authorities expect the toll to rise as the search continues and rescuers reach remote areas.

Maar ik staat niet raar te kijken, dat er zoveel is ingestort. Ik was eens 3 maanden in Agadir en Marrakesh en daar zag ik hoe ze huizen en huizenbloks bouwde en toen dacht ik al van dat gaat niet goed als er een beving komt en zie nu. Ik heb gelijk. Marokkanen vinden geld belangrijker in hun zak, dan een paar zakken cement meer kopen en gebruiken bij de bouw. En dit is het resultaat, helaas.
