In the latest of a string of in-flight incidents, an American Airlines flight from Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles was diverted to Kansas City after a passenger allegedly tried to open an exit door. NBC News’ Priscilla Thompson explains how the crew was able to subdue the passenger.

I am so glad that this ended so well. At the same time though, the flight attendants need to take a step back from adding to any on-flight stress concerning the masks. Don't incite or escalate things that are not immediately life threatening. Don't assume the passengers are enemies or jump too quickly. Just take a breath! We need to reign things back to pre 9-11 & Pre-Covid as much as possible. Assuming that everyone's time in the skies can be peaceful & free. No fear and no masks that don't make a dent in Covid anyway. Err on the side of Love & Respect, even if/when not receiving it back.

When people behave irresponsibly in a vehicle while driving we have various remedies to discourage their behavior (limits placed on their license or revocation) can't the FAA do the same? Try a permanent ban or no fly list & you might just get their attention.

WITH A BEVERAGE SERVICE THE AISLES BLOCKED CHAIRS WERE LARGER MORE LEG ROOM .NO ELECTRONICS FOLKS ATE DRANK WE HAD PILLOWS & BLANKETS THEY TOOK NAPS. & WHITE PEOPLE WERE NOT SO AGGRESSIVE & 😠 ANGRY. MOST OF FLIGHT S MON TRU FRI WERE BUSINESS MEN & WOMEN. THE WORLD WAS KINDER GENTLER NOT #ME 1ST & #ME ONLY !! MOST OF ALL" SOCIAL MEDIA" . I think right now with the situation we’re having with Covid and all. Between Covid and making the seats smaller and closer together obviously is a recipe for violence. Now granted no one has the right to do that, but people are pushed to the limit right now. And I think one way they could help with the problems on an airplane is don’t book them at 100%. I’m not asking them to remove chairs I’m not asking them to give more space to the people in each row. Because I know that would take too much money. But if you always flew at 75% capacity that will give the space that these people need. Now this is just my opinion and I am a machinist from the East Coast. But if you think about it, giving people a little bit more room on a plane I think would help the situation . I also think that the airlines should have at least two sets of handcuffs on the plane at all times. That way if you have somebody acting up and they’re really being a problem you can handcuff them and tell them to stop normally when people are handcuffed if you handcuffs or arm their hands and their ankles that might help.

1) No fly list across all airlines, for life
2) No alcohol in airports or planes
3) AND jail for people who disrupt or delay plane takeoffs or landings. Simple as that, I would think we already had harsher laws after 9/11 but apparently not.

Airlines should offer Law enforcement officials a discount when they book a flight, just in case something like this happens.
No one can open the exit door in flight, unless the fuselage is first depressurized. Even mildly intelligent people should know this.

Hey this happens when people are locked up in their homes for 14 months, and lose their minds. It's being in Solitary Confinement.
People want to act like criminals, GET THEM OFF the plane! Most of the people are anxious to be boarding on an airplane knowing that they are taking somewhat of a vacation! And getting away from all the hustle and bustle of every day life I highly doubt that they would want to have something like this happen on an airplane of all places!!
