Roughly 35,000 flights have been canceled since Friday, repeating Memorial Day’s mayhem. Though heat is a factor, experts say the crux of the issue is how the industry handled the billions of dollars they received in pandemic relief initially meant to ensure post-pandemic travel. Staffing shortages continue to fuel disruptions after thousands of employees left the industry. After the holiday weekend chaos, airlines are under pressure ahead of July 4th, when millions more are expected to fly.

What's funny is the Democrats don't even realize it just how responsible they are for everything. The airlines are short people qualified people because vaccine mandates caused thousands of airline pilots and workers to resign. You don't hear about that though and now all those people aren't coming back to work most of them were fired permanently anyway so now the airlines can't find people to replace them and here's what you have you have flight backed up to the North Pole. Just flew to Istanbul and Athens. Cruised the Greek islands. Just flew back. 24 hours door to door. Pretty lucky. Early in the summer. Plus we were flying International which doesn’t seem as hectic as even my recent domestic business travel. This is what happens when an entire industry from top to bottom is gutted in terms of talent. Many of those laid off have found new careers. Can’t flip a switch and expect it to be back to normal.
I flew this past week on Delta and it was smooth. I like them a lot compared to other budget airlines I used in the past. Never again! Delta all the way.
