What blew out was the plug to cover the extra hole in the left rear of the 737 Max 9 for another door. The Max 9 can be configured for long haul flights by removing some seats and installing another rear door for extra food carts to move on to the plane faster; on shorter flights you have more seats and less food to carry.
Complex systems will not survive the competency crisis brought on by DEI.

There was a plane years ago that had windshields fasted from the outside, and a supervisor finished the replacement job, with screws too small for the holes by just a little. They guy had bad eyesight. A pilot was sucked halfway out, feet were caught on levers, and crew held onto him, but he took a high-altitude-beating, against the plane, but lived to tell about it.
Do they charge extra for that lovely view?

Boeing 737 Max 9 has flaw. Yes I am an aeronautical Engineer and plane can never pass stress test.
737 Max killed hundreds in 2 fatal crashes 4 years ago. Now this on another 737 Max which could easily have gone tragic.

Journalism is so sloppy. There are so many reports like this one about this event that make it seem like the cabin pressure dropping was the issue and that it caused a "hole" in the plane when it is clearly obvious that a door failed causing depressurization or resulting from it. And the demand to be dramatic and swim in hyperbole is so insulting. Now if it can be shown that an actual decompression occurred that caused the door to blow out than say so or feel free to speculate but only if you stop talking about a hole and actually realize a door failed. Did it fail and the plane depressurized? Or did depressurization cause the door to blow out? Either way isn't the presence of airframe failure the real emergency here rather than it being the depressurization?

Not to scary any one but I worked on aircraft for Boeing those mask don’t hold much air to be honest enough make emergency landing but not enough for more than 2 hours probably less honestly
