As more than 11,000 migrants were encountered by Customs and Border Protection in just the last 24 hours, NBC News’ Julia Ainsley takes us inside the border crisis. DHS officials say most migrants illegally crossing are processed and released into the U.S. and that many more are on their way.

As a non-US-citizen, I don't understand why the barbed wires pose a humanitarian crisis. If these people go to the gate dedicated for immigrants rather than trying to cross the portion of river that are barbed wired, no one will be hurt by these wires.
