The economy is booming. Unemployment is at record lows. Demand is greater than supply which spurs inflation/higher prices. Fed modestly raised rates to cool down economy. It is simple price gouging but the supply chain issues are working themselves out, modest rate hikes will chill the stock markets for awhile while the transitory inflation settles down. If you want to "beat" the situation then just put off big purchases, buy tech stocks instead.
