I'm torn on this issue. Every book should be accessible to all people interested in any given subject!!! Period. And I do believe they are. Schools are for the education of the fundamental subjects. Public libraries are everywhere, and for free. And crap, you can check out almost any book right from home. Our children are stupid right now, let the schools get back to teaching. And put controversial literature in the public libraries for all to enjoy.

What is obscene is the Republican obsession for taking people choices away and dressing it up with the lie that we are saving the children. It is about control, pure and simple. I cannot fathom why any reasonable adult would defend and even promote providing minors with obscene material. The assertion that these ”book bans” affect minority authors is just absurd, and has NOTHING to do with the real topic. What’s “unamerican” is trying to fit even this controversy into a racism narrative. What’s “unamerican ” is the sexualizing of our children which encourages them to get into risky behaviors. Adults, do as you please, but LEAVE THE KIDS ALONE.
Now Arkansas is joining the hoopla? I am glad they are fighting it! This madness has to stop somewhere. This is not about Christianity, never was. This is about blocking access to information and knowledge, because it IS POWER! Power we are at last seeking out, because people are finding out for themselves that what they are being told and what actually is happening don’t add up!
