  1. Why only regulate JetBlue and not the big 4?!? They have been increasing prices for years now. The DOJ suing to stop this merger does not make any sense if they allow AA, UA, DL, and SW to let prices skyrocket. B6/NK would make the big 4 lower their prices domestically, this merger could undercut the BOS – FL routes. SJU has been in JB/NK markets because AA pulled out years ago. This guy doesn’t even take in account how expensive it is to travel cross country on the big 4. I was looking for a JFK – LAX flight, DL had it for nearly $900 for a coach seat whereas JetBlue had it for $1100 for their first class seat. Delta’s first class seat from New York – LA easily goes for $1500+ to start.

  2. Too bad nothing has been done about black rock or vanguard yet….

  3. I don't think he ever took a spirit flight in his life.

  4. Why did garland lie about cops being killed at the Jan 6 riot?

  5. The man is nothing but a bald-faced liar.

  6. Why doesn't this idiot do something useful, like indict Trump?

  7. It’s ironic how they’re not letting it go through because they don’t want prices to rise but at the same time they let American and United have mega hubs across the country. They each have monopolies on plenty of routes and charge outrageous prices to fly them but the DOJ is nowhere to be found when it comes to those. A mere 50 minute flight during the week on these airlines costs $500 round-trip but they’re more scared of JetBlue having a single mega-hub in Fort Lauderdale (and it would only be a fraction of, for example, American’s DFW hub anyway). Most of JetBlue and Spirit’s routes are served by other airlines too, so I really don’t get how the DOJ is scared.

  8. I'm really far left but this is just government nonsense that won't make a difference in the end.

  9. Wow. Jet blue didn't force jabs. I wonder if spirit did. There is a airlines I will fly. Apparently that is the dirty work lil satan is up to now.
Ya kmow mr garland, we st I ll have 1 just court. It is called GITMO.

  10. 80 percent of all air travel is on only 4 airlines. Probably should divide that up don’t you think? A bigger JetBlue would drop prices for the vast majority. Big picture.

  11. Jetblue is one of the Best Airlines.

  12. maybe Sprit will be able to pay their pilots now…better for the teams…gov't needs to butt out.

  13. so what? don't fly with them then….govt interference is not a good road to go down

  14. Now why aren't they doing the same for all these big tech conglomerates?

  15. WTF Why is he not indicting Trump instead of low-cost Jet Blue?

  16. Nice but what about AMAZON.

  17. Anything but that jan6/Trump stuff🙄

  18. We are undergoing a rebellion or an ongoing insurrection that needs a thousand indictments to save the United States and Attorney General Garland takes the time to worry about two minor airlines, when any of the dozens of his staff could have made this announcement. It is time for Garland and the Department of Justice to stand up and do their sworn duty and stop playing our population as though they were imbeciles. When are all the charges going to be filed? When are the leaders of Homeland Security going to be charged for not being around on January the 6TH and wiping all data out of their phones? There are already tons of evidence against all, including media, past presidents, house & senate members, judges and billionaire oligarchs. The only thing lacking is our laws not being enforced.

  19. I agree 100% what the Justice Department is doing 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

  20. And Amazon?? And Microsoft? And Apple? And Google? and ALL THE other huge companies that gobble up others??? Pepsi? Coke? and… and… and…

  21. How about the lawsuit to indict Donald Trump; how is that one going Merrick?

  22. Now all Garland has to do is actually enforce the laws of the United States and bring Trump and his criminal cohorts to Justice. Until DOJ fixes that problem, nothing else they do matters.

  23. Why is the Democratic Party so anti business?

  24. Because this is what they consider important right now…

  25. The most corrupt AG in history. Brandon’s lap dog.

  26. why don't you do something real and indict Trump? This is just more free market micromanagement.

  27. Jan 6 committee knowingly suppresED evidence to persecute Americans to attack their political opponents !!! CHARGES NEED TO BE BROUGHT WHERE IS OUR DOJ WHERE IS OUR FBI ??? OH THEY WHERE ALL COMPLICIT WITH THESE CRIMES !!! OUR GOVERNMENT HAS OFFICIALLY FALLEN !!! WE NOW HAVE CRIMMINALS MAKING LAWS. IS IT A WONDER WHY THE COUNTRY IS FALLING APART !!

  28. No comments from the useless Merrick Garland about the 35 Antifa anarchists and Joe Biden supporters that were arrested and charged with domestic terrorism for the violent attack on a police training site in Atlanta.

  29. Justice department with protect American consumers… Except when it comes to inflation , militant police and neo nazis who engage in public display😑

  30. You can see him almost praying that people won't notice the big orange elephant in the room.

  31. The judge will make the decision, not the US Attorney General. American, Delta, United and Southwest have about 80% of the market, jetblue is very small. This government is not friendly to airlines.

  32. Investing in crypto now should be in every wise individuals list, in some months time you'll be ecstatic with the decision you made today,,

  33. I wonder what will be said when Spirit files for bankruptcy and the Govt. decides it is in the best interest of all to allow America, Southwest, United or Delta to absorb Sprit so as to not cause scheduling conflict for passengers? Too bad only one other airline shares the majority of destinations of Spirit

  34. YAY!!! Now go put tRump in Guan-tana-largo already!!!!!

  35. Hopefully the Judge seeing this will agree with the DOT❤

  36. I wasn't for other mergers such as American/U.S. Airways, airTran and Southwest but i was for the Spirit/jetBlue deal espically because spirit is a hated company with a bad reputation in the eyes of the average customer who flys on spirit. I was not for the attempted Spirit/Frontier merger because both companies are hated by many. I also think the DOJ failed to realize that there are two new low cost airlines Breeze Airways and Avelo Air which they are growing and will disrupt the airline industry as they get bigger overtime.

  37. Might be unpopular but I never had a problem with Spirit. Yeah it's a crappy airline but they made no secret of it. As long as it's safe and cheap. I think it should stay that way.

That and cheap flights out of Florida is as good as it gets. That would be heaven if one lived there.

  38. that makes no sense actually that was a good move for jetblue but they dont want to see good competition
