When you make sweeping laws like this that hurt people, you force them to defend themselves. What they have done is make people now know the supreme court is bias. Which means people are going to be very stricteous in who they vote for in the democratic party so, that less stuff make it to the supreme court. They just are going to be a group of great judges with nothing to do. These outcomes are unconstitutional.

The government forgives all student loans of convicts who serve at least one decade in prison. Nickolas Cruz got all his loans forgiven that way 🙂

My guess is that the Supreme Court will rule against the student loan forgiveness program. They plan on making their decision available to the public AFTER they are well out of the courthouse building and on their “ well deserved” 🙄 vacation.
So we no longer have a responsibility to pay things we signed up for did she not no basic math and how interest works. I was in the debt cycle also but I stopped spending on things I didn't need and paid them yea it sucks but it was nobody's responsibility but mine to pay for loans I signed up for.

Try 12% Student loan interest from the '80's! I had one particular loan from my first semester (undergrad sophomore year) for $4,000 which was $12,000 by the time I graduated (law school.) I was able to consolidate my undergraduate loans at 9%!! And that was considered a good deal.
In total, I owed $150,000 in student loan debt when I graduated in '92. It sucked but I dealt with it. It would have been nice to get a "free" education.

It all comes down to integrity. If you borrowed the money, you're expected to pay it back. Absolutely no different than a house, car , business, etc. loan.

The biggest problem with student debt is the predatory interest rates which can't be refinanced and can't be lost in a bankruptcy. People fail to realize that the money going to student loans and high interest rates could be flowing back into the economy instead.
The only reason student loan forgiveness is even a thing is because they know the kids can't pay it back and they have to get the money from somewhere, i.e. the taxpayer.
If Boomers and corporate America didn't collude to require 4 year degrees for entry level jobs maybe they wouldn't be in a position with zero leverage to get the money back.

I'd be very happy if my loans get forgiven. It would put me in a good position to make another investment. I have the money saved up and refuse to pay interest on it. If it doesn't go through, I'm prepared to pay it back. I agreed to pay money for a service at the end of the day which I got. My investment into my Engineering degree has already paid off many times over.
I kept living with my mom after I graduated and we made a dual income household for a while.

Suing because you don’t wanna work on Sunday is kinda crazy. It is quite a few jobs that don’t make you work on Sunday he just had a $hitty boss. I’ve definitely had a lot of bosses who don’t make you work on Sunday. That lady paying on he student loans. If she enrolls in school at least part time every 6 months they won’t charge interest for the year because they would be deferred. It’s crazy that free speech is even considered to allow ppl to literally discriminate against ppl.
I am cool with just forgiving the interest since the government decided to pull a buy now pay later on the students. Either way, i am good. I am in independent but lean more on the conservative side because we are a Republic. I know if this bill doesn’t pass, this will cause an uprising in Democrats voting widely to get more funding. The past generation created these little brats
I still don't see the big reason why people think of forgiving student loan debt as a big waste of money. Congress made it harder when you couldn't even declare bankruptcy with student loan. And no one complains when the military or the government wastes money on projects that don't work or are still trying to make work.
I’m all for forgiving student debt as long as something is put in place to prevent it from happening again. I feel like college tuition shouldn’t be a part of the free market
