A Washington state woman was injured after a bear knocked her to the ground outside her home. The woman knocked the bear on the nose and it ran away. The bear was killed by Fish and Wildlife officers because it was overweight, likely from eating leftovers and trash. KING reports.

Everyone here needs to read up on the Night of the Grizzlies in 1967. It was a hard lesson learned about both intentional and unintentional impact on the bear population that ended in tragedy for both humans and bears.
Stop littering, stop leaving trash and food outside, donβt ever try to feed or pet wildlife. By doing so, youβre harming both humans and wildlife alike.

I am very saddened by this- mama bear should not have been killed. Two orphaned cubs, heart breaking. Humans are encroaching on their habitat/land. We need to give it back, we also need to safely secure human foods in neighborhoods like this. Now if you are upset about mama bear and cubs, take a look at the food on your plate if you eat animal products. The same thing happens to factory-farmed animals and probably worse because they go through a life time of suffering. The bear we are mourning and the cow, pig, chicken on plates are the same. Your dog and the cow, pig, chicken on plates are the same. If you care about animals like you are saying here, consider not eating them anymore.

Person who killed a bear should be chartered. That person could have stayed inside. Period. No need for this. And shooting, isn't their city limits and rules FOR HUNTING. Don't care if the human thought oh its my property….your property is NOT A SAFE PLACE TO LEAGALLY HUNT!

Bears are Omnivores and due to extreme Preadation with the introduction and Over Abundance of Wolves now, Competition for Food sources, between Wolves, Cougars and Bears has reached a Crisis State, due to the Severe depletion of the Deer, Elk, and Moose population from Over Predation, Disease, and Several other Factors!
As The Food Sources Continue to decline, Bears & Cougars especially, are being Found in More Human Populated Areas, while Looking for Easy Pickings!
Although Washington State Fish & Game Continue To Openly Deny That There IS a Problem!
Wolves Should NEVER Have Been Reintroduced into an Eco System that Now Contains an Abundance of Human Activity, as encounters like This Is a Direct Result!
Now Unfortunately for Wolves, the Only viable Solution is a Drastic Depopulation of Wolves, in an effort to Regain a Balance, and Screwing Further With Mother Nature, after Creating Problems That Did Not Exist Before! It's The Same Throughout Washington, Idaho and Montana!
