Veterinarians and volunteers in Saint-Pierre-la-Garenne, France, are working to determine why a beluga whale that strayed into the Seine River is refusing food and appears emaciated. Beluga whales can survive for a short time in fresh water, but markings on the whale’s skin show possible signs of deteriorating health.

For everyone screaming incoherently for “relocation” – 🙉!?? They can’t just scoop her up and “relocate her” because of several factors. The stress of putting an UNTRAINED beluga into a stretcher like we see with captive, trained whales & dolphins isn’t possible. That is usually done by lowering the water in a tank slowly until trainers can get in the water and put the stretcher around a beluga or dolphin that has BEEN TRAINED TO FOLLOW DIRECTION & IS CALM BC IT KNOWS ITS TRAINERS, and it knows what’s happening bc they would have trained for it DOZENS of times.. Doing so to THIS beluga could possibly cause irreparable damage to both the whale 🐋 and humans, hurting everyone & helping no -one. Also, the people we see there may not be even TRAINED THEMSELVES in how to capture and transport whales, ALSO adding to the risk and making it even MORE deadly FOR THE WHALE. However, if in the meantime they are able to process blood work and say, find an infection, they can begin to administer antibiotics that may help it to feel well enough to eat. Things of that nature are what is possible now. We can hope, & PRAY 🙏 that the whale may also finally follow them back out to sea which would ALSO be best.

Time to call Sea World. They have the equipment to transport and relocate the whale and they have marine biologist who can help it.
Trying to help an animal, using animals you killed
This whale is trying to communicate, much like the monk who lit themselves on fire in protest. It's saying: "LOOK, Look at what you're doing to my species, I have nowhere else to go!" it will die and it's plea will go unheard and then we will follow. Our species doesn't deserve to survive, when we ignore all smoke and fire in our own house.
Can you nonFrench esp Italians or Americans check the🐬beluga isn’t trapped in the Seine river between dam structures? Also Tell the French to feed live fish to the beluga not dead fish.
