At the very bottom of this text is my initial view of Joe Biden's visit to Saudi Arabia. After the fact and very initially it does however sound like Biden's visit may have worked out better than perhaps I had originally thought especially with respect to addressing the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, Israeli relations with Saudi Arabia, and human rights in general. That said, I disagree with violence used as a government related, strong-arm solution to a problem as this was.
And I also want to acknowledge of course that we also have our own problems here in the United States with violence between our citizens – AND the refusal of some in our own government to support intelligent regulation of weapons in this country. Of course Saudi Arabia is allowed to have its own view of the United States.
With respect to the fist bump, let's not be shallow about that. Maybe that's not what I would have done, or what you would have done, but we need to leave that behind real quick.
