If it's a mental health issue then rescind the right to have a gun to anyone having (or had) a mental health issue. Oh wait, that would include most of the population.
Nothing will get done! Same routine as usual. Gun reform in this country has been going on since Columbine shooting. Mass shootings will be normalized in USA cause its part of the American fabric. Texas gun laws are so lax. Lived there for 13 years and remember going into a Walmart for the first time in Texas and they were selling guns and ammo.
