  1. this makes me angry and I don't even live in America. and you have billions for ukraine and any other wars? but not your own citizens. Americans need a revolution that's the only solution

  2. It's amazing how everything in the news is a "race" issue…. even when it's not…. it sells more news I guess… i get so tired of everything in the world is racist… according to the news … This is obviously a narrative… but my question is the reasoning behind it…

Whether it's to sell more News … or…. is it to keep is at odds by breaking us up and keeping us in social/race categories….

Here, in this story, tjere was absolutely no need to turn this into a race issue… especially when it affected everyone….

So back to my question …what was the purpose for the Racial Headline?

  3. People of color deserve to sweat as the clouds rain

  4. I remember driving a truck full of water to Jacson miss, what chocked me is that thousands of people coming to get water are blacks which convinced me that’s this is a racial thing, I left wondering if there is not a single white live in the city.

  5. How is this is not racism? The city is 90% black, this would never happen in Colorado or Montana. No point in explaining this to white folk , too arrogant to sympathize with people of color.

  6. The cities management has been screwing this up for decades. The current in office have mismanaged all the money to fix alot of these problems.
Infrastructure is a constant evolution and lools like no work has been done at all.
Also city taxes and utility proceeds seem to go somewhere other than back into the city.
Crazy that all these years not one elected city official has ever been held accountable.
Now its we need help, instead of we need to fix this problem we have had for 50 years.

  7. 🤦🏻‍♂️😂 You guys can make racism out of anything. You people in the media need some real help. Not sure if there is any help for just plain stupidity.

  8. It's ignorance on the jackson mayor's part if he thinks the state will just dump money on them without a proper plan and estimate to fix the issue.
Even listening to the mayor him self who's black it sounds like he's waiting for the state to do it for them.
Even predominantly white community's in Mississippi are required to send in a full outside contracted estimate and plan for such requests.

  9. I'm going to Blame nbc for turning it Into a race issue when it's more of negligence issue from the states governor that's seen as a race issue from a outside perspective. Tate reeves has a history of corruption when it comes to funding his city's. At the same time the city it self should put a plan together with projected cost and what needs to be fixed. That's then sent to the state and federal governments. The city mayor's office has yut to even present a plan to fix the issue that's needed to request funding from the state. Both parties are responsible.

  10. Of course, it's racism. Just like in Flint, Michigan. The capital of Mississippi has a higher percentage of blacks than whites. It makes a difference. White politicians, white judges, etc. Republicans want to keep it that way. Racism is alive and doing well. Especially in the deep South.

  11. Move!!!! there's a big USA out there

  12. Of course, always blaming it on “racism” you people anger me

  13. And what about the people in prison? They can't boil their water. WTF!?!!!

  14. F'ing terrible! This is absolutely a basic human need, and the government in Mississippi is responsible.
My mother and father lived there for 2.5 years and now I'm worried about them.

  15. What form of government does Jackson have?

  16. The state? Racism? It's on these people to vote in the right local officials who should have used the tax dollars to fix these problems. I don't remember the state fixing our pipes and water treatment plants. It's either the water district or the city. Start by holding your local officials accountable.

  17. I believe this isn't a race issue. But I will admit this is extremely sad ….. our water isn't the most perfect water but if I were her I would definitely consider moving for her and her family's health. Waiting on the government to step up will never happen sad to say. Either sit there and deal with somthing that will never get fixed or make a move. You got to want to better yourself and move on to bigger and better things it will take a little bit of work but you have to have the WANT inside you to make a change. You said it yourself Mississippi abandoned you make a change I promise you it will be worth it ! You have to look out for you and your family staying there is only hurting your health more and more.

  18. It is shameful that in 2022 we have states that are not benefitting of clean running water. There is no excuse or justification for it.

  19. Funny but not ha ha funny how it In a predominantly black neighborhood

  20. WHEN YOU POINT YOUR FINGER 3 ARE POINTING RIGHT BACK AT YOU

  21. So devastating, don’t stop reporting on this please!
Poor baby: water makes you sick…
I heard on another report that clean water will be the next “bootleg” industry you think 🤔

  22. THIS IS THE PART OF AMERICA THEY DIDN'T WANT TO SHOW TO THE WORLD.

    🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱

  23. THAT'S WHY I WILL ALWAYS ADVOCATE FOR A MAJORITY OF BLACK PEOPLE TO PERMANENTLY RELOCATE TO MOTHER AFRICA AND AWAY FROM THIS STOLEN COUNTRY AND DEFINITELY ABSOLUTELY 💯 AWAY FROM ALL WHITE PEOPLE

  24. NBC why don’t u do a story on the Navajo Nation and other indigenous Reservations, our people STILL to this day do NOT have running water!!!!!!! Or electricity! We have been promised so much fr the government and still receive nothing!!!! Today is Dec 16, 2022 with temp freezing at night out elders are out there with nothing but a little Hogan with a little stove to keep warm. They need help!!!!!!!!
We r tired of all the broken promises.
Be grateful Mississippi that u have air conditioning, heat, and lights to switch on and off with a simple switch.

  25. This is so sad. 🤔😢 The state and the city needs to be ashamed of thereself. I pray for the mother's and children's, etc. of Jackson, Mississippi!🙏🏽🤲🏽

  26. America seems worse and worse as an outsider looking in. Water America really??? The greed in their government is insane. Same in Detroit too no?

  27. Somebody show us what was requested in funds to fix the water and what was actually sent after asking for funds…
    This is horrible 😢
And of course the bottled water companies are probably lobbying the politians to spend money elsewhere so its never fixed 🙄
& Republicans are racist so it don't surprise me 😒

  28. In other news, our government just approved more billions $ for Ukraine. Good luck Mississippi!

  29. Blacks also cannot keep the water flowing in Johannesburg. They other races to keep things working. Sad but true.

  30. The Governor of Mississippi is waiting on the city Jackson to come up with a plan so the state can consider solving the issue ? What a POS

  31. How much would an entirely new water infrastructure cost compared with how much equipment they left in Afghanistan?

  32. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, may I introduce the self proclaimed most powerful country in the world!!
And they've got the audacity to mock Russia for being unable to supply their military!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  33. They do exactly what they want you to do
    By water !!!
Mostly if you dig a hole in the grond you will get water

  34. Americans don't have the right to clean water?! They're always crowing about their rights, clean water is a basic human right throughout the whole world, what can't America figure out about clean running water?! Ridiculous. At least they can say "down with the King" wow so free haha.

  35. Excellent piece!! Very well captured. Heartbreaking. Just riveting. 💔

  36. This is the state that gave millions to farve to build a stadium for his privileged white daughter?

  37. Why try to connect everything to racism. Worst take I've seen in a minute. I really hope there is new leadership to solve this problem. So very grateful to live in a good city in central Pa.

  38. 🙏🏿 my people…..

  39. I left Jackson, MS almost 2 decades ago and it baffles me to this day that the city is still in a state of crumbling. Whoever is to blame, city or state, black or white, republican or democrat should be a shame in themselves!!! I've traveled the world since leaving and this is unsatisfactory! I pray for real leadership at all levels to resolve Jacksons problem. 🙏🏾

  40. Y’all should come together as a community and make a change yourselves. Obviously the people running your city are not smart at all. Stop complaining and relying on other people. Government doesn’t care.

  41. Its not racism. These people can vote to raise taxes to fix the problem themselves just like every city in America. Its not a national problem. Its not a State problem either. Its up to the local citizens to raise taxes, raise prices, and sell bonds to build infrastructure for themselves. I personally have over $400/mo water bills in a rural water district in Kansas. Boo hoo. You can move to be my beighbor, but you will PAY for the infrastructure for clean water and we do not have any low income affordable vouchers for high water bills. You can get a job to pay for our clean water you consume.
