I have a picture of my Grandmother sitting on a cliff/rock with Half Dome in the background distance. She went there before I was born. But then I'm 4th gen SF/Calif. so been there often.

Yeah we saw it like that in the early 70's. We used to go there all the time. it's in your BACKYARD when you live in California. It's like 3 1/2 hours from downtown San Francisco. If I were homeless I'd be living there all summer. Eat with Yogi and Boo Boo people's picnic baskets. Hey hey!
Been there three times and did the half dome trail once in 2000 and regret I haven't been back now that I'm 67.
If you like to see water falling off a cliff then this where you need to be.
It is absolutely beautiful there. I had an amazing time.
