Bronx medical school gives students free tuition after $1 billion donation

A historic donation to a medical school in New York City has provided students with free tuition moving forward.

Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx received a $1 billion donation from Dr. Ruth Gottesman, former professor and chair of the school’s board of trustees, the institution announced in a press release Monday.

The massive donation is among the largest ever made to a university in the United States.

The $1 billion donation will ensure that no student at Einstein will have to pay tuition again, school officials said.

  7. Amazing leaders of the university not being greedy like so many others would have been
Giving to the next generation is a perfect answer

  8. Doctors and nurses shouldn't have to pay for classes to save lifes😢

  9. There should be a movie of this and show how it affected people’s lives of all situations of thousands of backgrounds. I would love to hear their stories. Producer’s, directors, get ready

  10. 1100 students a year tuition room and board and book equals out to 200k per person per year which will last l
May be 20 years. Then every one of them will go into credit card debt

  11. Ah, the melodramatic saga of the affluent medical scions, gallivanting through the hallowed halls of academia while burdened by the ostentatious weight of their parents' fortunes. How tragic it is that their plight compels them to plunder the pockets of their patients, all in the noble pursuit of financing little Timmy's tuition at the Ivy League preschool.

Behold, the magnanimous Mrs. Ruth Gotthesmen, whose charitable whims could surely solve the conundrum of universal education if only she'd divert her billions from yacht fuel to, oh, I don't know, textbooks for the proletariat. But alas, her generosity seems confined to endowing yet another wing of the country club rather than lifting the masses from the abyss of educational inequity.

And let us not forget the indignant chorus of 0.8% of these fledgling healers, whose cries of financial distress echo through their opulent penthouse suites. Oh, the travails of the upper crust, burdened by the weight of their inherited privilege and Louis Vuitton luggage!

But fear not, for in their defense march the loyal foot soldiers of elitism, armed with an arsenal of excuses so flimsy they could double as tissue paper at a billionaire's charity gala. Ah, the sweet symphony of self-justification, serenading us with tales of woe spun from the finest silk of entitlement.

Yes, my friends, in this theater of the absurd, where the rich dine on caviar and the poor feast on crumbs, let us hope that the divine bookkeeper is indeed tallying up the sins of the wealthy elite. For in the cosmic ledger of justice, there may yet be a reckoning where the corrupt and callous find themselves roasting on a spit in the fiery depths of eternal damnation, their gold-plated pitchforks melting into puddles of regret.

So let us raise a glass to the absurdity of it all, toasting to a world where the privileged prance and the less fortunate languish, all under the watchful eye of a deity who surely has a wicked sense of humor. Cheers to hell, my friends, where the elite shall cook upside-down for all eternity, their hubris seasoned with a dash of divine irony.

  12. Wow that’s amazing – let’s get more psychiatrists and primary care doctors out there please!!!

  13. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  14. THE BRONX MEDICAL SCHOOL IS NOT GIVING STUDENTS ANYTHING. IT IS A DONATION OF TWO BILLION DOLLARS TO THE SCHOOL BY THIS LADY WHO IS A MILLIONAIRE WHO IS AFFORDING THE SCHOOL TO GIVE FREE TUITION.
The MILLIONAIRE gave the school not the school gave the students. .
    REWORD THE STATEMENT.

  15. POST THE NAME OF THE PERSON (the lady in blue) DONATING THE BILLIONS TO THE SCHOOL . GIVE CREDIT WHEN CREDIT IS DUE.
BECAUSE BRONX MEDICAL SCHOOL IS NOT GIVING FREE TUITION WITHOUT THE GENEROUS GIFT FROM THIS LADY. I believe SHE IS a Doctor. ❤️🇪🇨🇺🇸❤️

  16. Who tf would donate $1billion to a school that’s on license probation🤣🤣🤣
