  1. I hope they get millions of dollars
Crul and hateful people running the fair

  2. Give me the number of mass shootings over the past few days, especially in my hometown, Louisville, Kentucky, I truly wish this were the worst thing that happened to kids in America today. A GD goat. Are they able to use the ladder? Just kidding, I know this is not funny, but sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying.

  3. 😢😢😢justice for Cedar😢😢😢

  4. That’s terrible. I hope the little girls family wins. They likely traumatized this child for life.

  5. I know it’s blatant hypocrisy to return a goat awaiting slaughter when everyone involved including the little girl eats animals BUT she is child who loved her goat Cedar. She deserved to get him back. The fair didn’t want to set a precedent and have their 4H program extinguished because many children would follow and have an attack of conscience too and ‘renege’ on the 4H agreement to give up their beloved animals to be slaughtered.

  6. Sue!! Sue ASAP. Publicize this ASAP!!

  7. If it was considered a stolen goat as they treated it, it should have been retained as evidence!

  8. Set aside for a minute, the thought that this was a goat. What if this happened to your 9-y-old's dog? What's gonna stop the county from doing this to your dog?

  9. Duh, ok I think we all know that it wasn't the 9 year old that signed the contract. The parents signed the contract, and yes you have to honor a contract. But if the buyer said they can keep the goat, the county should have let them do that. At that point the county over stepped their boundaries.

  10. I get there is a contract, but the girl raised the animal and got attached. The family tried to back out BEFORE the auction, and you wouldn't let them, even though they tried to financially compensate you. They took the goat to a sanctuary. Finally, the cops illegally took the goat to be killed. Most of the comments talk about the girl having learned a lesson. Yeah, she learned people are cruel, vindictive, petty, and not even cops can be trusted. Wouldn't be surprised if she became a vegetarian or vegan.

  11. Here’s more information about this goat. If I love my pet I would never sell it or give it away

following a rescue attempt she made after her daughter regretted putting the pet up for auction. (So they put that goat up for auction. Maybe they didn’t comprehend what they were giving up or what those people were going to do with that goat). Jessica Long had purchased the goat named Cedar in April 2022 for her 9-year-old daughter as part of a youth agricultural 4-H program. Animals purchased as part of the program are typically slated to be sold at the Shasta District Fair's livestock auction for meat. Long's daughter decided she wanted him back. Fair officials refused Long's entreaties to keep the goat despite her offer to offset the costs. (So they tried to buy the goat back the fair people refused to undue the deal with the goat).
Long then stole the goat, setting off a search involving law enforcement that spanned six counties and 500 miles, the length those cops went behind a pet goat is mind blowing just to kill it. The mom must’ve not read and understood the fair rules. Long's daughter, who fed Cedar every day and came to care for him like a pet, reportedly had a change of heart before bidding began and decided she wanted to keep the goat, but fair officials said allowing her to take Cedar back would go against the rules.Cedar's meat was sold on June 25 for $902 to a buyer representing Republican California state Sen. Brian Dahle, who is also a farmer and small business owner in the northern part of the state.

Of the $902 paid for Cedar, $63.14 was to go to the state fair while the remaining $838.86 was allotted to the goat's owners

  12. Wow that’s bad publicity for 4-H. 🤔🤔🤔😊

  15. Evil people don’t have heart ❤️

  16. What a stupid program letting a child to raise a goat then ask the kid to take it to slaughter

  17. evil people that love to kill cute animals…it just so disgusting, poor girl will be traumatized for years after this!!!

  18. 🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷

  19. Did county officials show their kindness by bringing a plate from the barbeque to the little girl? They are probably too busy finding replacement voting machines for their Dominion models.

  20. $900 for a goat! that can't be right

  21. I'm not an expert on animal husbandry and care, but I was under the impression that most farm animals exhibited at fairs such as those run by Future Farmers of America are immediately auctioned for sales to farms and the slaughterhouse. Is this correct?

  22. First off why even put up the poor goat to auction if they never intended to let the animal go especially if the child form a bond. This is the parents fault not the government not the fair officials. Lets us use this as a example of wat not to do

  23. Shame on the family; hope kid (no pun intended) learns a lesson.

  24. Imagine! The family wanted out of the contract with the fair. They put the goat in a sanctuary. The fair goes to the sanctuary and slaughters the goat … WTF 🤣🤦‍♀️🤣

  25. Litigate their dumb az, one goat isn't going to break the county. Compassion should have ruled the day.

  26. This story is insane 🤪

  27. 😂😂😂 they got that family good!! srry little girl life isn’t all Daddy and Karen mommy getting everything you want

  28. Those scumbags running the fair I'm mentally sick And should have the same fate As the Goat

  29. All Cops are terrorist And very sick people Anybody that puts on the badge should be ashamed of themselves

  30. It was a freaking TEAM of detectives from the Sheriff's Department that were involved in this. They spent weeks investigating possible hideout locations for this goat including scoping locations in different states. Then when found the location that was 500 miles away they sent an advance team that spent days scouting out the location and possible escape routes. Then they executed a tactical entry. ALL FOR A GOAT!!!!

  31. Shame on this adults that did this to a little girl.

  32. That's what they get should of thought about it before it's a contract like buying a car with payments such is life get over it

  33. There was a contract tho so ur kinda screwed
