California lawmaker wants to ban foods containing harmful chemicals

A new proposal in California is taking aim at various chemicals in processed foods like candy, cereals, and bread that have been linked to a higher risk of serious health problems. The state lawmaker leading the charge hopes this move will force manufacturers to find other non-harmful ingredients for their products. NBC’s Dr. John Torres reports.

  1. But I need my daily lead!

  2. Typical, people want other people to be responsible for their actions and needs… its every man for himself!!!!

  3. Yet cigarettes and alcohol will still be available.

  4. Even tho candy is so delicious it has to be gone aww😔

  5. What’s the point of not reporting the actual chemical names?

  6. We should ban water and air too.

  7. The whole state is falling apart. We can barely afford food…….

  8. They want to ban Skittles, but not dangerous pharmaceuticals? Oh, that's right. Big Pharma only makes billions of dollars a year poisoning Americans from all their "safe and effective" products. They can ban almost all fast food while they're at it. A McDonald's french fry contains 19 ingredients – including TBHQ (a form of butane) and dimethylpolysiloxane (also used in the manufacture of Silly Putty and yoga mats). Just sayin'.

  9. It ain't the Skittles, it's the Shittles, that cause the Zittles!

  10. That’ll never happen in this corrupt country. We all know that corporations get the poisonous every day for profit. It’s time for a new government that actually works for the safety and concern of the citizens, and not that of the rich.

  11. California lawmakers are more afraid of candy than the violent criminals wandering the streets💨🤡

  12. Ban all rainbow institutes

  13. Foods are toxic in America, yet people worry about farmed salmon while no other country worries about, even Japan doesn’t have issue with farmed salmon…America focusing on the wrong things since 1776. 😂

  14. Meanwhile people are shittin and shooting up on the streets

  15. Uh-oh, Skittles and Nerds are about to start tasting different, because Demon-cats are gonna pressure their parent companies to use different ingredients. Even if the law doesn't pass, the companies will feel the heat and get to work ruining their product to make Dems happy.

  16. OMG CARING FOR KIDS IS WOKE!!!!!!!!

  17. Drama Queen. The sky is falling. The sky is falling.
They won't ban the candy. They just have to reformulate the ingredients.

  18. Good, candy is rotting teeth and diabetes is a major problem. Lookup how long you live in your state, if your not in Hawaii or Vermont you don't live as long as Californians.
