The Ukranian army does not care about people's lives but only about losing ground. For instance start following Patrick Lancaster who is an independent journalist who interviews local people. He even lives in Ukraine.

The Ukrainians need those howitzers asap. They could have tried to get their people out of Mariupol by forcing the Russians back with artillery but they don't have enough offensive weapons. The Germans said they had 100 mobile howitzers available, then Chancellor Scholz decided to "sit on the fence". Maybe he got a phone call from Putin and got scared, who knows.
