This is something that should’ve been addressed years ago with the growth in the size of pickups and SUVs for every new-gen model, it isn’t like the tech doesn’t exist trying to save a buck, test and do your research before buying any vehicle

This is an extremely complex solution to an extremely simple problem: Be aware of your surroundings. Trucks have been around forever, way bigger trucks than those, but they aren't running people over, wonder why? 🤔

I hate to say it, but even though it was an accident it sounds like it was 100% her fault
As someone who's mom ran them over as a kid, I can't imagine running my child over. Or anything. When I drop my child off at school I'm just waiting for one of them squirrely kids to dart out in front of my car.
Now do the same tests with someone who is 6'2" or taller and see what they can see.
I mean if you're ever concerned about hidden living things in front you can grow a habit of using the car horn to warn to move before pulling forward. Trains do it all the time.
Just for the record the larger these vehicles get the larger the parking spots will have to be redrawn to accommodate, I saw one at Walmart have to take part of another spot because of it's large size.
