  1. Yes protect bikers at all cost 💯💯🙏🏽🙏🏽‼️‼️

  2. Democrats are too cheap for infrastructure

  3. This is why I NEVER ride on streets anymore at all, and haven't for decades. May he RIP, and everyone else be more careful. A bike will never match a car in an accident, and most drivers don't even notice or car. I got hit once and barely had time to get his license number, he claimed he didn't know. This was way before so many cell phones, too, so he didn't even have that excuse to lie with, either.

  4. He was riding a fixie?
    No wonder.

  5. shouldn't have been on the road

  6. Bicycle/human vs motor vehicle- mv always does the most damage, which is why city governments need to stop utilizing the same space for various types of traffic! The city is putting people in harms way due to the close proximity they place foot/bike traffic to motor vehicles on designated roads. How many must be killed or maimed before this issue/need is taken seriously? Very sad and it angers me bc it just didn't have to happen. It looks like the city/county put tax dollars before lives. Just my thoughts.

  7. Got hit on my bike by a hit and run driver. He meant to do it. Condolences.

  8. We do need legitimate protected bike lanes everywhere. Can let scooters use them too.

  9. In 1987 My friend and mentor was hit and killed on his bike, in 2011 another friend was hit and killed . After the second friend was killed my view changed on this topic . Cars have no other way to drive , than to use the roads built for their motor vehicle . Cyclists do have more choices , if it is to share the road , that is a risk , like swimming in the ocean with sharks . I drive 30 mins to a bike trail or 10 mins to another bike trail. I will not risk my life for a bike ride . I feel for those whose loved one is gone and the person who hit that cyclist . I do not feel for those who need to scream or get mean at a cyclist . Those are the type that are aggressive drivers who tailgate and rush to work . The roads are not filled with enough people I would trust my life to bike on . My 2 cents worth .

  10. soooo wheres the Driver? Vechicular manslaughter charge or does he have Yt Priviledge?

  11. Make the roads [more] narrower? And that will increase vehicle accidents by ten fold.

  12. It's way too easy to get a driver's license.

  13. It is the transportation department murdering tax payers

  14. BREAKING NEWS: 50 Cyclists killed while standing in the road for vigil

  15. Far too many cyclists are being killed doing what they love. And it is exponentially sad, and it seems to me that the State's aren't doing enough to protect the cyclists. We pay taxes and have automobiles as they do.

  16. Get off the road bikers

  17. Unfortunately I have counted over 20 white bikes on the west coast bike routes. Many close calls as an Adventure Cyclist…

  18. My heart drops every time I see news like this. To the car drivers out there, please be compassionate with everyone else on the roads. People on bikes are going places too. Even if they are all dressed in Lycra. For the state and US department of transportation, this is very preventable. Do something about it. Build more bike paths and separated bike lanes! They are the cheapest infrastructure to build! Way cheaper than highways and regular roads! Rewrite the manual to include proper provisions for people on bikes and pedestrians.

  19. Two reasons why non-powered bikes should stay off the roads:
    1. They are unpredictable and will change from following road laws to pedestrian laws, seemingly at will. Motorbikes at least will follow road laws same as cars 100%.
    2. They are unpowered, meaning they are silent and are hard to detect. Motorbikes are at least loud and you can generally hear them coming.

  20. You could pave the entire Earth and car drivers would feel entitled to drive on the moon, too.

  21. I can bet the driver got only a ticket when its the drivers fault

  22. Bicycles and pedestrians need to be kept separate from vehicle traffic like Norway does it.

You can never safely mix the traffic, the drivers of the vehicles will never take the lives of bicycles and pedestrians seriously because they believe if there wasn't something wrong with you then you'd be driving.

  23. If we all had respect for each other than Bikes & Cars could safely share the road!

  24. He pumped my innertube several times.

  25. NBC pretending to care. Good Job. We need to Pretend sometimes so nobody is held responsible.
