At least seven people were hurt, including an infant, in a high-rise apartment fire on the South Side of Chicago. Footage shows one person carrying a baby through a smoke-filled window and then handing the baby to a firefighter. Authorities say everyone is expected to survive.

Firefighters deserve better salaries and lifetime benefits.
This reminded me of that terrible fire in a high rise (in the UK a few years ago?!) where there was a cheap illegal highly flammable material on the building. And so many people died bc the place became an inferno so quickly as a result. This place looks like brick! 👌🏾

Man, those ladders on the ladder trucks are phenomenal pieces of engineering! That thing is plucking a grown adult and their kid from an at least 8th story window unsupported with two other firefighters loaded up with all their gear on it at the same time. That is CRAZY!
