Mostly the court communicates disdain for the American People and interacts littlle at all with folks outside their rarified circle; likely, not at all. They are culturally isolated from what occurs in the lives of Americans and the conditions women still face. Alito states that he finds this irrelevant, while quoting witchcraft prosecutors from the sixteenth century in a different nation. Some justice: compassion, mercy and importantly real justice instead of a codified approach to please wealthy donors USED to be the court's reputation ought to be the court: NOT. We have purchased justices, partly due to Citizens United, their vote which given what we are seeing sure looks like self dealing.
We could end abortion by providing birth control, education, affordable childcare and a living wage, but they would rather punish than assist. They would rather incarcerate than intervene with help when people are faced with ruin of their lives. They and their backers are too selfish and cheap to ever allow those things, so they will punish women and make them husk breeders for the state, who "owns" their children no matter whether they even willingly engaged in this "act of creation" or whether they were physically and psychologically mature enough to endure the massive additional trauma.
It completely erases the conditions women have to consider every day concerning their own safety, at home, in the workplace, and just walking around. The COURT is appalling, Roberts. Punishment is your aim, but you really need to look at what so many people have seen in this courts' behavior and character. You are so far from the ideal it's pathetic and a damning statement of the Democracy you are ruining with your opinions.
most of the justices are ideological hacks put in place to eff with almost everyone who actually lives in the country to do the bidding of the powerful and help a dying democracy die faster. The breach of trust belongs to the court, not the leak; they seek to do their masters's will, not the people's.
The supreme court has no ethics and is itself an egregious breach of trust. They insured "Citizens United" which financed some of the justice and the political supporters of this. We have a supreme court justice whose wife is a seditionist and he does not recuse himself in cases she is related to. We have two justices with credible allegations of abusive behavior toward women. And we have an extreme religious ideologue who came into the court with her agenda and her opinion hardened but she lied under oath with congress, and she has been carefully cultivated by a wealthy and quite radical organization with great wealth. This court is beyond corrupt, unethical and dysfunctional.
Roberts is part of this. My understanding is that he was upset by this "appalling breach of trust". A great many Americans are equally disgusted with the court, the way it has come about, and the OBSCENE BREACH OF TRUST THIS COURT HAS PARTICIPATED AND CONTINUES TO PARTICIPATE IN. THE COURT IS PURELY POLITICAL AND WILL UNDO EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO MAKE SCAPEGOATS TO PLEASE THEIR BACKERS.
