I think the most damning bit of an early t rial for Trump is him taking the stand only to opposing the fifth amendment. Over and over again. I think because he's no technically a co-defendant, he can summoned as a witness. And then you can put this side by side with him saying that he looks forward to be on the stand, he could win the case in five minutes.

Strange as it sounds, I would lay down a bet today that Trump will not be the nominee come November. That seems unlikely, but that's why the bet will pay off handsomely. Polling yesterday, today, and tomorrow ignores the effect of 20 people not named Trump being indicted alongside him, the steady drip drip drip of those who flip, and what will be very public finger-pointing at each other when talking about personalities like Giuliani and Powell – and bear in mind the "un-indicted co-conspirators," some of whom are possibly still on the hook. Another important factor is that Christie, more than anyone, has set up a "permission structure" for people to turn away from Trump.
