Come on, Todd.. This is not a both sides issue. It’s not the case that both sides have grown increasingly apart. It’s the (MAGA) Republican that is unrecognisable. They say so themselves! Current leaders of the Republican party – people like Trump, Marjorie-Taylor Green and Kevin McCarthy – attack conservative stalwarts like Liz Cheney, Ron Paul and Mitt Romney. I mean, MAGA Republicans support dictatorships like Putin’s Russia. Reagan would not recognise today’s Republican Party.
The republicans are falling apart. Their gun legislation is leading to mass murders every week, their supreme court justices are corrupt liars and grifters, their politicians are authoritarian fascists that attack vulnerable groups and roll backmthe rights of women and they support the devil trump for president again.

The ROOT CAUSE is a decision by a person, not the gun. If you don't fix the people, then you will never solve anything. This is why mass shootings happen more frequently even with stricter laws. It's not magic. We are not addressing the root cause, because Dems want laws that only deal with the symptoms. Dems cannot understand this simple fact. They actually believe the answer to every problem is more restrictions and more government.

Every time people say thoughts and prayers. Every time people say it’s mental health. Or try to blame on other key issues like gender identity of migrants. It’s all so…. Bland now. I’m not even shocked no more when a mass shooting is reported, I was not at all strucked when 5 people were basically executed. This whole "lefty-righty" thing is a lie! It's just a method of hiding corruption and indifference from the people and from media by constantly shifting the blame back and forth, they are in fact on the same team.
The problem of the present age is people and institutions that are above the law. If we want to live in a society that is without corruption as much as is possible, then we have to stop expecting people in positions of power and powerful institutions to correct or discipline themselves – trusting them to govern themselves was a bad idea from the beginning.
I am perfectly happy for every single justice to be examined with the exact same level of observation as Thomas!
