Why didn't ABC do a piece interviewing other war reenactors? Enough with the biased reporting! Are the WWII reenactors in the video attached below celebrating the Holocaust? OMG! German command posts and all! What about the men portraying the British in the second video attached below? Are they anti-American and are celebrating their loss too?! It just never ends with those who are "offended" Villains throughout history destroyed monuments/art and culture to completely take over and bastardize history.

The worst examples of reenactors immaginable. Britain has English Civil War reenactments and even the Battle of Hastings!
These “reenactors” were the absolute worst example of reenactors they could have interviewed and followed, there was nothing about them that was authentic or correct to the civil war.
I am a Federal American Civil War Reenactor, in Illinois, I enjoy the comrade and enjoy sitting talking and spend my weekend with like minded people. I enjoy doing living history were people can come to our camp and learn about Civil War History and the life of a Federal Army soldier and etc. I love answer questions from the public, and enjoy taking photos with people
This is a piece of garbage video. It implies reenacting the civil war is racist, they have no interest in the history behind it, other than slavery. They're obsessed, they can't get their minds off of racism. That isn't to say slavery never happened, it did, and it was disgusting. it talks about celebrating slavery, and I didn't see any celebration. They talk about hate, but it seems like the reporters etc. are the only hateful ones in the video, by portraying all reenactors as die hard white supremecists. WW2 reenactments do happen in Germany I think, and I know for a fact ww2 reenactments take place all over Europe; that's 'cuz they actually respect their history. The people in the video COMPARE H*tler to confederates. Anyway I think this video is dumb, and I'm not even a reenactor.
I like how ABC news picked the absolute farbiest of the farby reenactors for this. There's very little that's actually 'authentic' about any of this…nor does it present much historical teaching value to the public in any way.
As a civil war reenactor this was just a blatant hit piece. Reenactments are not the celebrations of the events that happened, let alone slavery! It's just like the name implies we are reenacting the events that happened as a form of visual history so people can (in a sense) see the history play out.
In short reenacting is to show people what the battles were like and how life was like back then. NOT a celebration of the time period or the views these men had.
The confederate flag needs to be banned and out lawed the confederate flag is just an American version of the nazi flag.
I had a ancestor that fought in the south in the war as a artillery captain in the war but believe it or not this is our history on the line and if these protests keep coming then we’re gonna have a 2nd civil war

This is not a surprise. I predicted Civil War 2 awhile ago. The South is still bitter that they lost and Trumpers really would like to rehash the Civil War. And we know which side has the guns. Scary times.

You people do realize that there are Union reenactors as well and that the outcomes of the battles are presented accurately? The south lost this battle, and that's how it's reenacted. Nobody is trying to change history. In the 90s, they were called "living histories" and celebrated as such. More reactionary ignorance.

The people involved in the historical re-enactments should, in my opinion, better understand the history they are re-enacting. For instance, take a moment to read Confederate Vice President Alexander Stephens’ Cornerstone Speech, given in March 1861, explaining in detail why the South was seceding.
In reference to the aspirational assertion in the U.S. Constitution that all men are created equal, Stephens proclaimed:
“Our new government is founded upon exactly the opposite idea ; its foundations are laid, its corner-stone rests upon the great truth, that the negro is not equal to the white man, that slavery—subordination to the superior race—is his natural and normal condition.
This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth.”
He said: “Because their sensibilities might be offended that everything has to change to accommodate that and the world plain and simply does not work like that”
