What's most worrying is that these supposedly highly intelligent people are totally ignorant of the issue they're protesting against and are just joining in the herd because it makes them feel so edgy and activists. What they're protesting for is basically the elimination of the state of Israel and the rejection of the Jewish people for self determination and the cancellation UN resolutions that determine Israel's right to exist.
Are they really justifying the murder of innocent people by asking Israel to stop oppressing Gaza? Is that really antisemitism? I could just be a dumb “goyim” but I don’t think so.

It's a shame that Palestinians allowed Hamas to govern them. The Western world needs to read the Iranian constitution and the charters under which Hamas and Hezbola were formed. I don't understand the 'you can have free speech but there will be consequences' as a blanket argument. To chose a different example that we can all agree on, when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat, of course she faced consequences. But that doesn't mean she was wrong to take a stance against racism. Or that the consequences were justified. History is full of establishment people creating unfair consequences because they want to protect some kind of status quo. To have a vibrant civil society, students need to learn to think independently without fear.and society needs to create a safe space for them to do so. You may well believe they are wrong; in that case engage them in open conversation but dont stoop to threatening or steam rolling. You are doing everyone a disservice then.
There’s never justification for rejoicing over evil. It's sad that the younger people are doing this. Hate for one another on both side will only lead to more devastation. I'm surprised law students were doing this.
Is that the best way to win young hearts and minds? Threaten their livelihoods? Professors trying to scare their own students from thinking independently? Why not engage them in discussions instead?
