Some companies are substituting ingredients in their food products, often with cheaper ones to battle inflation.  It’s called “Skimpflation” and it’s catching shoppers off-guard.

  1. 50 years into Reaganomics completely deregulating Big Business and allowing them to do what they want…and Americans still don't see what the problem is. Amazing.

  2. Only solution to this: COOK! I finally went back to cooking, because I got fed up with everything tasting so damned weird, stuff that I've been eating and drinking for decades. Even junk food–which had low quality ingredients to begin with–is rancid. I used to have a Hostess cupcake once in a while and now the stuff is inedible! Mountain Dew has tasted like detergent for years now. I'm shocked that people are drinking the stuff like it's mead or something!

  3. You misspelled " To maximize profits".

  4. American sized products becoming China sized and priced hmmmmmmmm

  5. Honestly, I don't think it's that big of the deal. I mean, compared to Ukraine, where they have a hard time, even making a loaf of bread. I am grateful for what I have and for whatever I can get my hands on. 🙏🏼 There was a time when food was scarce for me and my family.

  6. I have completely stopped buying Campbell’s soups in the past two years. They are ridiculously watered-down. Might as well boil 5 noodles and add water.

  7. So worth eating real, while food in their pure form. Homemade split pea soup with homemade bread is better than some crap off the shelf at the store. Pure whole butter is healthier than faux butter.
My 2 cents. Get a bread machine and wholesale flour. It’s gonna be a rough winter.

  8. Bait and switch is what it’s called.

  9. also many restaurants are choosing to buy low quality products. Their food quality is becoming inedible 😢

  10. I like roach flour in my pancake mix

  11. I read the most of the entire label, always! I must be less than 5% 🎉😂

  12. #CONAGRA, A GREAT START WOULD BE LESS SUGAR, SALT, NON SENDE CHEMICALS ETC ETC!!

  13. I myself never believed there are any organic foods in the mainland except for where I ariginally I came from. Some of the south Pacific islands are the only places where people don't use any fertilizers or any chemicals.but just soil. Myself and my siblings visited there and also the worship GOD THE ALMIGHTY 100%..everyday the bells ring for Prayer in the time in the morning, afternoon and evening..Saturday is the last day for groceries shopping and everything close down by 4pm and Sunday morning bells ringing for church and nothing is open till Monday morning..not even theaters..we love it..WORSHIPPING GOD THE ALMIGHTY IS A NUMBER ONE..the people lived of the lands and the ocean..

  14. Stop eating packaged food. The cardboard box was more nutritious BEFORE they cheapened the goods.

  15. Great<video and some nice tips! This is a scary time for new investors but the best thing you can do is not to make decisions based on emotions. This could actually be a good time to buy more of high conviction stocks or crypto on a discount. Wealth is created during bear market's,not bull markets. If your portfolio is really affecting your mental health then delete the App and go for a walk. Let the market do it's thing and have a long time horizon..

  16. The greedy rich doing what they do best

  17. Fight rising costs? OMG They are the ones raising the prices. What a joke. They are making more profit than ever and keep raising the prices and crying "inflation" when in fact they are the ones doing it. Wake up people.

  18. With Democrats in charge it's only going to get worse

  19. It's all fake advertising 🤣💯 wake up people 😂

  20. NO ONE should be eating seed oils! ie margarines

  21. All while keeping their top brass and shareholders as rich as possible. One day the bottom is going to fall out of the economy and most people will have zero disposable income. My grandparents lived through the great depression, and it will happen again.

  22. And the corp. news ends in a corp. note.

  23. It's called capitalism – we don't have to keep inventing other words for it.

  24. It's time federal governments got really involved with prepared foods, health-wise, anyway. Pretty soon we are going to have inedible products mixed in to keep the profit-line rising. Just see what China did to pet foods and baby formulas; if you don't think manufacturers in the 'west' will try the same stunts, you have your head in the sand.

  25. Yeah… contact the company 😭

  26. Would really be a shame if Americans were forced to eat a bit less.

  27. The best thing to do, is to buy very few things with more than 1 ingredient.

  28. Well America can hold accountable all the ignorant votes that elected this clueless clown show administration !
Stand up and be counted !

  29. Well this explains why my cat won’t eat her wet food anymore, food that she has eaten for years, I found an old can and she ate that!

  30. Who is eating hungryman meals? Tf

  31. Oh, the Chinese method. How lovely…

  32. That is why you should cook your own food from basics. Don't buy processed food.

  33. The media needs to start putting pressure on these corporations calling out their greed.

  34. Some tips:
Grow what you can yourself, buy only organic, and read all the ingredients on the label.

  35. Processed foods are the devil.
