The royal family has very little power and is popular because it is a symbol of the nation. The almost complete whiteness of the family is not an accident, it is entirely the point—to keep the representation of Britain white. Blackness and the royal family are like oil and water—which is why the Harry and Meghan union never really had a chance.
Wow people are so sensitive!! What the godmother should of asked was what was her ethnic background origin. She is not racist. That was due to her curiosity of asking what her ethnic background/roots were from. Now if she responded with “I came from a history of institutional racism through my ancestors who were slaves, then I would shut up. I was born and raised in the US, where everyone is from a different culture, race and ethnicity. The godmother didn’t call her a racist name, rather her ignorance of how she asked the question was quite typical in how others (white people) I have come across with that did not know how to phrase/ask the question. Cuz I’ve been asked MANY times where I’m from and I said the same thing, “I’m born and raised in America. If you’re asking about my ethnicity, then I’m Chinese.”

When I was in China I was asked where I come from, the same in Morocco, Thailand, South Africa, Vietnam, Malaysia, Egypt, U.A.E., US, Panama, Canada and many more countries simply everywhere and when I explained I come from Europe I was asked exactly what country then what city. A black women born in Great Britain usually does not bear a sign on her forehead that says 'I am British, I am born here" so it's only understandable that on any kind of social meeting someone would ask for closer details about her origin. So what? Please get back to normality otherwise I am obliged to cut any social contacts with foreigners or colored people in order not to get involved in such a useless, hypocritical and stupid discussion like this unfortunate Buckingham Palace lady. With regard to Meggan and Harry I want to point out that if my brother would have married a black woman it goes without saying that I would tell both of them that I am curious to know what color their child might have. It's only natural!

Racism is apparent with some of those elected Congress people the voters are voting for. We as voters should start demanding limited terms for elected officials. The charity involved assists women of Caribbean and African descent. Although an awkward interaction, perhaps the elderly assistant was just trying to find out how Fulani's heritage relates to her work and was confused why that wasn't forthcoming??
Everyone who is proud of where their culture/ancestors come from, shouldn't feel insulted, you should be proud of your heritage. I'm from the United states, but my parents are from Mexico, so yes, I don't have a problem if I'm asked that question.
