  1. Hmmm. Plenty of ignorant comments not understanding that rules were different back then. Did you also know that once upon a time there was a back foot noball rule, pitches weren’t covered and test matches went beyond 5 days.

  2. As he should be. That delivery is not something to be proud of lol

  3. Equivalent to current days' Mankad.

  4. It's not a legal delivery…..it's beamer…. cheating is the passion of Aussies can't separate them from that 😂😂😂

  5. You can see how the new no ball rule has come about. Tough one to deal with chest high beamer. Good reaction from McDermott.

  6. The ball must have slipped a bit, probably because he lost his bit of sand paper.

  7. So many memories from this series. I remember this well. This windies team was maybe the best ever. Brutal… non stop full on pace… Courtney Walsh was the junior fourth wheel. I remember poor Rodney Hogg pulling away in that disastrous first innings in Perth, Kim Hughes’s press conference, our spin win on a Sydney pitch that really turned. Thank god we turned the corner

  8. I remember watching this live. Props to McDermott. 19yo and on debut but still knew that it wasn't cool. I remember Drew Morphett asked Bob Simpson at the break if Border should've called Richardson back. Simpson said no, it was just bad luck.

  9. The batsman was wearing a HAT. Things sure were wild back then.

  10. That’s a NO ball. Ugly oz s did not bother , they celebrated the first success for young McDermot !

  11. You can understand his disappointment, rank full toss rolls luckily on to a stump. He wanted to see the stumps uprooted!

  12. Kind of sums up Craig McDermott. He SHOULD hang his head in shame.

  13. Good sport. Shame they didn't recall him

  14. No ball nahi hai kya 😳

  15. At the time, this ball was completely legal, though no one would have been proud of it. This took place in 1984, while the waist-high full toss rule was only introduced in the year 2000.

  16. How on earth was this not called a no-ball!

  17. Back in the days when umpires needed a lift home from the bowler

  18. TEMPERATURE ?!?!

At 0:14 we see spectators dressed for summer heat. It's so hot that some are shirtless.

At 0:16 we see players, the one's who are actually exerting themselves, wearing sweaters, like Graham Yallop, Murray Bennett, and later, Larry Gomes.

Why? You'd expect it to be the other way around, especially for Gomes. He's got to do lots of running. Gomes didn't hit many boundaries and I never saw him hit a six. So, why are these guys wearing jumpers, while spectators are shirtless?

  19. Isn't this supposed to be a no ball?

  20. I’d call the batter back to the crease! I would be so disappointed to even think that was my first wicket at test level!

  21. Thats what luck start your cricket

  22. Now, that would be a waist high no ball.

  23. Is his son is Ben Mcdermott?
