A massive crowd surge at a Halloween festival in Seoul, South Korea, has resulted in the confirmed deaths of 149 people. The death toll may grow as officials say at least 78 more were reported injured. Seoul officials said most of the victims in the stampede were people in their late teens and 20s.

Seoul’s alleyways are narrow and very steep with stairways in a lot of places, where a lot of the bars are located. If a person trips its like a “Domino” affect causing a cascade of people falling over each other buried under a waterfall of falling people.

People in crowds are often at the mercy of the movement of the crowd. A crowd mass movement of people can lead to forces on their bodies of 1,000 lbs. It’s also referred to as a “ fluid movement”. I think the reporter mentioned the doctors statement of alcohol being a factor to death not because people were necessarily intoxicated but alcohol causes dehydration which makes it more difficult for the body to fight for survival. Such a tragic event. My condolences to all the families 🌸🌹
First of all, you guys are Koreans, which means Halloween is NOT a part of your culture. Stop trying too hard to be American. Instead, be yourself. Getting your hair blonde and your eyes bigger don’t make you American. However, if you wanna emulate the Americans, learn to be self-reliant and know how to make everything, especially weapons to protect yourselves.
