I have family members up around Portola California and had a discussion about what will happen if theres a huge warmup like in 1996!. A pineapple express scenario! This would be the ultimate disaster.
I selected option B: rapid melting and severe flooding.
Shut up about “The Draught”
Its over 100% Over now
They don't get rashes when they shower. They're not getting chemical burns in their throats. Too bad Ohio doesn't get as much coverage as a snow storm.
Yes, one good year of rain and snow can end the drought. In fact if you look at the numbers we are almost there.
Someone needs to go back to back to middle school science. "Rapid evaporation" won't cause flooding. Rapid melting would.
People living in the mountains unable to prepare for mountain things.
It's not epic I used to go up there in the 70s and it was like this most of the time the news media people are clueless, and reporting lies as always.
Should have flown in supply's on day 3. Average person don't have a 2 day supply of food. National guard needs the practice anyway. Should air lift a medical unit for all the old folk and other people who need care and meds.
people and the cities/towns have to prepare for a catastrophic flood situation right now. They don't need to wait till the last minute and tell us thst they were not expecting it. We all tend to think that climate xtreme events occur in other places and not where we live. It doesn't matter if global warming is factual or not.
Crazy how a few weeks back California was Crazy In Rainfall and Now SNOW
Dang lol
Typical California people bitchin about everything bitchin they have no water bitchin that it might be too much
We've been doing flights into there since yesterday with general aviation and started this effort 2 days ago and will continue to do additional flights today and probably through the weekend
Mountain living requires extra forethought and attention to detail for this exact type of emergency. Especially when moving to a new home you should have an extra stash of critical meds. And robust physical condition; it’s not unkind to state the obvious. If you’re not able to be self sufficient in case of emergency you shouldn’t be living in a remote location.
one good year of rain and snow cant make up for years of drought. 🙁
