This guy seems not to understand what energy independence is and also have no idea that importing more oil may not be a bad thing. Why am I saying this:
USA sells and buy through the year. Sometimes it buys more than it sells in different months. Buy cheep, sell expensive. At the end of the year, if more was sold than bought, it is called energy independence. USA was also energy independent in 2021.
When products are imported, they are often refined by Americans and than sold again to other countries. This is not a bad thing, but on the energy independence side, it will look like USA is not energy independent. The only reason why Fox is stupid enough to focus on this, is because Republicans made it a narrative, as if it means something.
They love it… Make everyone broke and let them do drugs coming through the border to make them submit to the government
