Look how few white players there are. Is that discrimination? If it is, what's the NFL going to do about it? If it isn't, if it's truly based on merit, then why isn't the same true for coaching, etc. Can't have it both ways.

The push for equity that wants to see the same numbers of blacks and whites in every position ignoring the fact that whites make up 80% of the population and blacks about 13%. By that alone yes you will see more whites in positions of power, holding more high paying jobs, even making up more of the welfare state. But they just ignore the fact that blacks dont even make up 1/5th of this country. So by the percentages this whole arguments is that they think there should be 3 more black coaches in the nfl. Statistically that would be 13% of the coaches.

If this were the other way around with players being majority white and coaches majority black would we be having these discussion? Players are and should be most important for any sport

If people really believed that the coaches and team staff should be representative of the players, they they would also have to support a ban on hiring women since zero women play in the league. Okay, let's discuss the racial disparity among players. Why is 70+% of the league people of color? What about NBA? The far BIGGER question is why is it only 17-19% of Americans are people of color but they make up such a MASSIVE presence as players? That's definitely racism too. But it's not against the people of color.

Truth be told ,America is still rotten to the core with racism ,NFL owners are still looking down their nose at other human beings who are in fact children of God and thinking that they are better than them because they are owners of the team and they have money, racism is so embedded in the American culture until it has become a sickness , that will perhaps take a million years before it is eradicated. Since the majority of the players in the NFL are African Americans ,what they should do is to create their own league and become owners of their own teams.
