What was supposed to be a night of Halloween festivities suddenly turned into a horrifying scene. So far, 149 people are dead, and more than 150 injured in what authorities are describing as a stampede. Dozens of ambulances and emergency rushed to the scene as bystanders began administering CPR to people on the ground. The country’s president appealed for disaster teams to work quickly to identify the dead.

I was there in Itaewon visiting from Canada. This was a crowd crush not a stampede! Too many people in a narrow alley that was descending onto the main street. Some people in the back somehow pushed forward into the crowd sending a shockwave effect that knocked some people over in the front, many smaller young girls in heels. This caused a domino effect and more people fell because the crowd kept moving forward. People were screaming to move backwards to help the ones that had fallen from getting crushed to death but no one could hear and the crowd kept moving forward. The pressure of everyone squished together caused people to stop breathing have broken bones Etc. This was not a Halloween event there was many different things going on at restaurants, pubs, nightclubs. Not everyone was dressed up. I personally went there not dressed up just to go for a bite or a drink at the pub. At 9:45 my fiance said let's stay another hour and if we had stayed another hour we could have been caught in the Crush. My fiance an I were in an alley of the same size on the opposite side of the Main Street just a couple minute walk away. Very luckily we had left just as it was starting unknowingly. Devastating incident that has also killed 26 foreigners so far included in the 152 deaths. I'll probably be scarred from ever wanting to celebrate Halloween again because of this tragic memory.

Reminds me of the Travis Scott concert and seeing all those dead bodies lined up with their toes in the front is so traumatizing to see. RIP to all those who died. Can’t believe it was suppose to be a fun night and it ended this way.
tbh I don't like crowdy bustling areas that much. It makes my introvert self dizzy, so I avoid such places. But I'm so heart broken. What did the authorities do while more than 150 people die in a crowd crush??

Main reason people collapse during stampede is when they are resisting againt the crowd and start panicking
Do the other way around just stand there and avoid using too much energy to scape its useless it only makes u tired
First dont panic, head up to catch oxygen and relax ur body
