What am I missing here? Can someone explain? I read that these victims had paid around $10,000 each to be on this truck for illegal border crossing. If I was someone in El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, etc. that had that much cash; why not pretend to be a tourist and buy a plane ticket? Can someone explain? I mean don't millions of people visit the U.S. as tourists every year? For about 12 years I worked in the restaurant business in Houston. We had a lot of foreign born coworkers. This was a topic of discussion. The foreign born workers all said they got to the U.S. on a plane or other ordinary means of travel. They had no reason to lie to me. Que le pasa? I just don't get it.
