Families of victims of the Parkland massacre are focusing their anger on the attorneys that prevented a death sentence. WTVJ’s Tony Pipitone reports.

There is nothing wrong with giggling and laughing with their client. It's a 4-year trial. You can't be robots for 4 years. Besides the defense should be friendly with the client and makes sure the client trusts them. Would you have defense attorneys who are robots and make you feel they hate you?

The defense team's only job was to defend this murdered, who admitted his guilt, in a professional manner. Their job description doesn't include treating the sociopath like he's a friend. Big fail. Do they forget what this animal did? Or do they just don't care?

Exactly. All these idiots claiming she flipped at the judge or families for days now. She didn't. It was a break time and she flipped at the camera man for recording them at break time, and even that happened months ago. The judge's behavior was disgusting. She let families attack public defenders (who defend people who can't afford attorneys) for doing their job, for being passionate about it. Like when the attorney said his kids were mentioned by families, the judge plays stupid, but when the attorney responds with she would have noticed it if her kids were mentioned she flips out immediately, proving the attorney was right.
The one thing I think people don't understand because they really don't know the judicial system. These are public pretenders. These are not paid lawyers they're provided by the state! Personally, I think you deserve the death penalty. I don't feel sorry for the little psychopath at all he should be under the jail, but I don't know why you're surprised these are public pretenders have you ever dealt with the public defender? I watched the trial closely. The defense team attorneys are evil. I cannot understand how they got away with being so nasty to the court in general. Just by their tone and demeanor they stood out as hateful and unprofessional. Never saw this before.
I get a feeling that some of them are actually miserable in daily life. Must have struggled making friends in childhood or something like that and have developed a deep bond with the killer.

It seems like the defense forgot their client admitted guilt. It seems like they forgot who the victims were. It seems like they were more concerned with getting famous than with doing their jobs. The issue isn't that they defended him, it's their job. The issue is how unprofessional, how rude and disgusting, how disrespectful and hypocritical they were. The arguing, the attacking, the blatant disregard for courtroom conduct. That's the problem.

I hope the complaint against that judge gets taken seriously. Judge Dorow would NEVER act like that in a court room.
Just remember, the judge hugged the prosecution after the trial, and not the defense. If that's not bias, then I don't know what is.

It must be very difficult for those parents and friends and family of the victims to go through this. They’ve already lost their loved ones but then to have to endure the defence team acting in the way they did… right in front of them, is so infuriating and disrespectful.
Everyone has rights to the rights of the Constitution. The judge is considered the executor of the law, but violated it. It is her job and duty in the courthouse to abide by and respect the rules of the constitution. By respecting the constitution, you respect the memory of those who rejoiced and died for it. A judge has no right to take sides, but only to follow the law on human rights. Nor did they prove guilt in committing hate murder, nor did they investigate that the murder was committed as self-defense against the brutal exploitation of an orphan.

I watched it. The defense was horribly disrespectful to the victims families and continuously rude to the judge from day one. The way some of them canoodled lovingly with the killer was beyond sick! How they were able to giggle with that monster after seeing pictures of and knowing what he did is beyond me. These defense attorneys (some of them) are clearly out for fame and future book tours and I seriously doubt they really care or have any real feelings about the death penalty one way or another. It's about themselves.

The judge is explaining the family’s anger to the defence bit Melissa McNeill compounds matters by rolling her eyes and pulling a face. THAT sums up the (lack of) professionalism of this defence team. I hope it haunts their work forever!
