NEW: The off-campus house where four University of Idaho students were brutally stabbed to death is getting demolished, though some of the victims’ families are speaking out against that decision.
University officials said they decided to tear down the house during winter break to try “to decrease further impact on the students who live in that area.”

In Europe we call this a garden house
Why the demolition so soon???
Probably more new apartments or something going up
Not even an attempt to salvage some materials – Keep on truckin' climate change.
This makes absolutely no sense at all, why would any competent DA or experienced law enforcement official allow this. Why the rush to tear it down?
Aren't there homeless in that community that could have lived there?
Prosecutors have all the evidence that they needed from this house and turned it back over to the proprietor.
Certainly, I would destroy it too and rebuild. To sell would lose money.
Poor people or young people were killed in there😢
That case is over this is healing
So everytine anyone is murdered in any building they have to tear it down? Why? I don't think bug cities like New York tear doen their buildings when people are murdered in them.
thats stupid
That was the university's call and there will be a memorial garden put in its place. Trial is still on going and they did this seems fishy.
Fucking Internet vampires cant get enough, can you?
What just happened… Evidence crime scene etc
Why?
It's because they don't want it to be a spectacle for looky lous. They can't sell it…
Petty. Just cause they were white.
They don't tear down stores if someone is killed in one of the Isles. They could've remodeled the house. There's no way insurance is paying
I read a post only a few days ago. That post said the house would not be destroyed until after the trial. I guess I’m behind the times. But still, I agree the house should have been maintained until after. How long did they preserve the house where marine Jeff McDonald supposedly killed his wife and children back in the 60s. It was years.
You are able to clearly see the tunnel entrance and the other entry ways into the house like behind the refrigerator and the tunnel door
I can’t believe they are getting to do this
This is dumb! There are countless numbers of houses (and other buildings) where people were murdered that are still being occupied to this DAY.
I smell some bs involved with this demolition!
Why tear it down? People die in houses every day…
What a waste. What is wrong with Americans? At the very least, deconstruct the house and reuse materials.
Initially I thought the demolition of the house caused the deaths of the students.
This is waste and coverup
House? That’s a wooden cabin.
Why though?
А при чём тут Москва? Не понял
Not even we’re any schools or theaters demolished after mass shootings .
Absolutely ridiculous. All the evidence gone before the fucking trial begins. Shame on the city for allowing this. I went to WSU while all this was happening and now it’s gonna be even harder to incarcerate Kohberger
I don't understand. Did the 4 student Got crushed in the building Or They were murdered in the building.
I was under the impression that in a murder case or capital offense case nobody was allowed to destroy evidence or anything like that before the trial is over? Am I wrong? I thought that was a felony in itself?..
Not really news. Noone cares about the house.
Nobody has any desire to look on the building.
Better not have any memories of the past.
Who has problems to keep the building as solid evidence – I can’t imagine or get it ….. ?
If you want to put some flowers on the ruins- just go.
