I left a comment yesterday asking why people are out driving in this when they've been advised not to. I had a couple of replies from people saying they've been given no choice but to work. That is appalling behaviour by the employers who should value their employees lives and give them the time off to keep them safe. That is generally what happens here in the UK. This is just another case of modern life where people don't matter as much as money. Stay safe and well people!

Live in Denver, so happy my company is closed for the week. Also, sun is up so all the snow will be gone in a few days. As people say, "Our snow plow is the sun.".
Funny it does this every winter all across the United States and they were more prepared back in 1940 than we are today…amazing how many idiots run the system today

Colorado worst drivers ever
That is literally 1/5 of what Buffalo,NY city proper just got, temps went from 50 degrees to near ZERO with -20 degree windchill , 70mph wind gusts, 20 foot waves on the lake splashing over roadways and homes, ALL thruways and roadways closed for 3-4 days, city proper closed for nearly a week. 30+ people perished. Stores still empty, some looted out. Crews Still getting personal, commercial and rescue vehicles unstuck to begin clearing snow with front loaders and dump trucks. Taking that snow to dump piles where dozers are making a hill that is about 4 stories tall. Now temps rise back into the 50s and we prepare for a flood. And just a month ago, the towns south of buffalo got over 80 inches of snow in 24 hours. For anyone who thinks this is normal for buffalo, it is not.
Buffalo NY considers that a dusting.
Why is this news? They get snow like this all the time.

The problem is it rained for hours before it turned to snow so that just froze everything quickly. No traction because of ice not the snow.
